I posted my final roster from my first playthrough in the comments here somewhere, albeit in japanese, if you want any pointers on who I recruited and used.
I also never actively recruited people I did not plan on using permanently (which includes most males, generic or not, strong or weak). As soon as I got enough permanents later on (contrary to my rants above Suzume is part of them) I ditched the reserves to save on nation cost and rooster space for future permanents. Rance, Ranmaru and Shibata were the permanents, which I tried to have in battle every time possible for them to gain the troop bonus afterwards, with the reserves only being there to reinforce them in numbers. I went with dividing the starting units into "permanents" and "reserves" right from the beginning. Yes, Kanami does not start with assassinate, but it does not take that much to learn it when you are talking about "having her in battle every turn", where she can not only increase her troops more than Suzume again, but also gather the affection needed for learning assassinate quite fast.Īnd if you think conquering Iga is easily done in the first 8 or so turns, to make use of the training school for Ninja in general, then I want you to share your incredible tactics with me, seeing as I am still busy with Asakura or Imagawa at that time after having finished Hara and Ashikaga. I will not again comment about "wasting" satisfaction points for the reinforcements as I think I already said enough about that before. Kanami has 7 speed, as do Orime, Kiku and Yoshikage, Inukai has 8, every other ninja is slower with Suzume having only 5.
